Texto descriptivo

I often walk around the cities of Helsinki and Tampere, taking photos as I go. I’m not a street photographer, but I do collect objects to use in my posters. Scrapped metal, construction site debris, orange reflective cones—these are the things that catch my eye, as well as the eyes of many of my designer colleagues. These objects have interesting forms, but I also believe they are the city’s way of speaking to me. City speaks up when there are problems, and there always are. Need to replace some pipes? The city shows me orange cones and mud around the excavation site. Poorly prepared drainage system? I see brown puddles. Big construction cranes and small maintenance machines are the true inhabitants of our cities—they look like dinosaurs.
