By combining the street cat—now an icon of Istanbul’s daily life—with elements unique to the city such as the Bosphorus, the bridge, the ferry, seagulls, and the Maiden’s Tower, the work reinterprets the city’s multi-layered identity through a contemporary and minimalist visual language. The Bosphorus, positioned at the center of the composition, is portrayed not merely as a natural boundary dividing the city into two shores, but as a vital axis of life that connects Europe and Asia, facilitating the continuity of transportation, cultural interaction, and urban memory. Meanwhile, the red yarn winding around the bridge symbolizes the physical and cultural ties between these two shores, as well as Istanbul’s complex yet interconnected structure.
