«Imagine Istanbul» reimagines the city through its most familiar and intimate figures. The design brings together an inseparable trio encountered every day on the streets of Istanbul into a single form: street cats, seagulls following the ferries, and the «simit» (Turkish bagel) shared with them.
The simits forming the eyes and the seagull shaping the mouth within the cat’s silhouette reflect the natural cycle and culture of sharing among the city’s inhabitants. Instead of complex architecture or crowds, the poster invites the viewer to imagine the true warmth and daily energy of Istanbul through these simple yet powerful symbols.
